The inaugural Double Helix Dash 5K and 1-mile Twilight Run, hosted by the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, was a great success thanks to tremendous community response. Approximately 400 runners signed up for the race before registration closed. More than 150 others participated in the 1-mile event.

The 5K started at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the 1-mile at 6:30. The crowd enjoyed a light breeze and temperatures in the upper 60s.

Welcome to the first-ever Double Helix Dash at McMillian Park. The HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is pleased to host this event in cooperation with our partners and sponsors.

Run the inaugural Double Helix Dash 5K (3.1 miles) or the 1-mile route through the distinctive double-helix running path of McMillian Park, as well as points through Cummings Research park.
